Robert Gray (1952 - 2020)
Dear Rob
You were a light, a bright shining light in the world and like so many of us, I will miss you so. You provided joy, smiles, guidance and support in everything you did and I am a better person for having spent time with you, thank you for your guidance. Your contribution to us all through your work cannot be underestimated, if this 3rd rock from the sun is to continue with humans on it and those humans have some semblance of reasonable accountability to each other, then part of that gift to humanity will be because of you. You started what others built on and future scholars will have the joy of tracing the roots of Rob Gray’s contribution. You are everything and more the world expects of a professor, thank you for blessing us all with your presence.
All my love,
Nick
(Prof. Nick Barter - Worked with Rob from 2003-2011 at University of St. Andrews and forever in his debt).
